On November 28, Xiaomi announced on its official Weibo account that the Xiaomi 13 will be launched on December 1, along with MIUI 14, Xiaomi Watch S2 smartwatch, and other ecological products. However, for some reason, Xiaomi released a statement on November 30 stating that the launch event for the Xiaomi 13 will be postponed, but the specific release time was not announced.
According to some sources, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro at the event. We all know that Xiaomi likes to develop many members in the same lineup. For example, the Xiaomi 12 series includes 8 members. The model name with the Lite has always been considered a simplified version, which usually comes with a downgraded chipset and core configuration, and this version has been the mainstay of sales.
Today, we found a new member of the Xiaomi 13 series in the Google Play Console, the Xiaomi 13 Lite. This is not the first time it has been spotted, as it has already appeared in the IMEI database with model number 2210129SG. The Google Play Console listing reveals some key specs and renders of the device.
According to the Google Play Console listing, the Xiaomi 13 Lite will be powered by an SM7450 chipset (which has significantly different specifications than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and could be a SoC that has not yet been launched). It comes with four Qualcomm Kryo 770 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and four Qualcomm Kryo 770 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It also integrates the Qualcomm Adreno 644 GPU. The Xiaomi 13 Lite will feature 8GB of RAM and run Android 12.
The renders on the Google Play Console show that the Xiaomi 13 Lite has a punch-hole screen. There is a punch hole in the top center of the screen for the front-facing camera. The screen will have a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The pixel density is 440ppi. The device features a rectangular triple camera module on the back of the body.
The listing did not reveal any additional information about the device. According to Xiaomi’s usual practice, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is expected to be released in the first half of 2023.
