Today, Honor announced on Weibo that it will launch the Honor Play5 series on May 18 at 19:30. The launch poster also revealed a render of the device.
Judging by its appearance, this phone it the Honor Play5. It features a U-shaped notch display with significantly reduced bezels.
According to previous leaks, the Honor Play5 will feature a 6.53-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution. The phone will be 7.46 mm thick and weigh about 179g.
The back of the phone will feature a matrix quad-camera setup (64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP depth sensor, 2MP macro lens). The phone will have a 3800 mAh battery.
We also noticed that there is no fingerprint sensor on the body, which may be under the display.

It is worth mentioning that the Honor Play 4 features the MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset, while the Honor Play 4 Pro features the Kirin 990 chipset. The chipset for the Honor Play 5 is expected to remain the same, while the chipset for the Honor Play 5 Pro has not yet been confirmed.
