The Sony Xperia Z3 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8974AC) 2.5GHz quad-core processor and a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 pixel display. It has a 3100mAh battery and a 20.7MP rear camera. This phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, supporting up to 128GB of expandable storage.
The first step is to open the back cover by referring to the disassembly experience of the Xperia Z1 and Z2. First, slightly heat the edges of the back cover, and then use a plastic pry tool to lift the back cover.
After removing the back cover, you can see the internal structure of the Sony Xperia Z3.
On the back cover edge, there is a layer of black waterproof foam rubber.
Disconnect the battery power cable from the motherboard and remove the battery. The battery capacity of the Xperia Z3 is 3100mAh, which is lower than the Z2’s 3200mAh, and there are some adhesive marks on the back of the battery.
Remove the screw and remove the plastic block. There is a plastic block on the right side.
The plastic block is used to secure the motherboard.
After removing these two plastic blocks, insert a pry tool under the motherboard, then lift and remove the motherboard.
Remove the screws securing the antenna module, then pry it up and remove it.
There are also two small boards and a speaker integrated into the antenna module.
The 3.5mm headphone jack module is secured to the phone using foam adhesive.
Use tweezers to pry up the 3.5mm headphone jack module and remove it.
The side button cable is reinforced with two plastic strips.
The display cable is secured using a metal plate.
After removing the motherboard, you can access a heat pipe, which is one of the features of this phone.
Sony Xperia Z3’s soft board has a side button, a vibrator, a microphone, and a three-axis electronic compass.
