This morning, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro was listed on the Google Play Console, revealing its render and some basic specifications.
The Motorola Edge 40 features a punch-hole display with slightly curved sides. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a screen pixel density of 400 PPI.
The Motorola Edge 40 will be powered by an SM8550 chipset. The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is built on the TSMC 4nm process and features the following specifications: one Cortex-X2 super core clocked at 3.36 GHz, two Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz, and three Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz.
The list also mentions that the device will have 12GB of RAM. The same devices are also listed on the Geekbench with the exact specifications and model number.
Rumors also suggest that the device may be an international version of the Moto X40, which was launched in the Chinese market in December 2022. If so, the specifications of the Moto X40 and Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be the same.
The Moto X40 comes with the same chipset and display, with a 4600mAh battery that supports 125W fast charging. It has a triple camera module (50MP, 50MP, and 12MP) on the back and a 60MP camera on the front.
The Motorola Edge 40 series might be released during the MWC 2023 event. If not, then most probably in the next month.
