As mentioned, the new Motorola Edge 40 will be powered by the chipset having codename: SM8550. The chipset is the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen2 flagship SoC from Qualcomm. It is based on the new TSMC’s 4nm architecture with the following specifications: 1x Cortex-X2 Super Core (@3.0GHz), 2x Cortex-A715 and 2x Cortex-A710 Performance Cores (@2.5GHz), and 3x Cortex-A510 Energy-Efficient Core (@1.8GHz).

The listing also mentions that this device will have 12 Gigs of RAM. It is worth noting that the same device was also listed on Geekbench certification with the exact specifications and model number.

The rumors also state that this device might be the international version of Moto X40, launched in December 2022 in the Chinese Market. If yes, the specifications of Moto X40 and Motorola Edge 40 Pro would be the same.

In terms of specifications, the Moto X40 is equipped with the same chipset and display, comes with a 4600mAh battery, 125W wired charging support, and features a triple (50MP+50MP+12MP) camera setup on the backside and a 60MP selfie lens on the front side.

Regarding the launch, the new Motorola Edge 40 series might get released during the MWC 2023 event. If not, then most probably in the next month (March 2023).
