As the holidays for Chinese New Year have ended, all the Chinese smartphone brands are now looking forward to releasing new smartphones. This morning, OnePlus announced to release of a new smartphone, which belongs to its Ace Series and is a successor model.
Recently, OnePlus (on Weibo) has officially announced that the all-new OnePlus Ace 2 (the successor of the standard OnePlus Ace) will be launched on February 7 at 2:30 PM (as per Chinese Timing). In the official announcement, the company revealed a teaser that didn’t contain any smartphone information.
The officials also announced that the all-new OnePlus Ace 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset and has scored around 1.1 million (1,149,494) points in AnTuTu benchmark testing. It is worth noting that the previous model OnePlus Ace 1, was powered by the Dimensity 8100-Max chipset.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 is the overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset. It is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and features the following cores: 1x Cortex-X2 (clocked @3.2GHz), 3x Cortex-A710 Performance Cores (clocked @2.5GHz) and 4x Cortex-A510 Energy Efficient Cores (clocked @1.8GHz).
Previously, the sources also revealed the devices’ renders in which it was observed that the new OnePlus Ace 2 would look almost similar to the OnePlus 11. However, the camera module of the OnePlus Ace 2 doesn’t have any Hasselblad branding on it, while the rest of the things are the same.
The sources also revealed specifications stating that the new OnePlus Ace 2 will feature a 6.7-inch centered Punch-Hole AMOLED Display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Inside the phone, there would be a 5000mAh battery with 100W super fast charging support.
In terms of camera, the OnePlus Ace 2 will feature a triple camera setup including a 50MP, an 8MP, and a 2MP lens. On the front side, there would be a single 16MP lens. In terms of storage, the new OnePlus model would be available in 8GB RAM, 12GB, and 16GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB Storage.
The new OnePlus Ace 2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset, the previous generation flagship chipset, and an overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen1. It is worth mentioning that the last standard OnePlus Ace 1 was powered by the Dimensity 8100-Max chipset.
It is expected that OnePlus will start releasing the major highlights of its OnePlus Ace 2 in the coming days until the launch event.
