This afternoon, Nubia confirmed that it will hold an online launch event on May 27 to unveil the Red Magic 6R. The official poster did not reveal any specifications or appearance.
This new device is expected to be the more affordable version of the Red Magic 6. Previous leaks indicate that the ‘R’ in Red Magic 6R stands for Racing. The device has appeared on several certification websites, with the model number NX666J.
According to previous reports, the phone will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a single punch hole. Unlike the standard version, the display resolution will be Full HD+. It measures 163.03 x 75.34 x 8.20 mm and weighs 186 grams.
The phone is also expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, which is built on a 5nm process and features a Cortex-X1 super core.
The phone will have a 4100mAh battery and support 55W fast charging, while the standard version supports 65W charging. The rear quad-camera system will include a 64MP main camera, and the front camera will use a 16MP lens in the punch-hole.
This will be the second smartphone launched by Nubia this month, while the first is the Nubia Z30 Pro, which was launched yesterday.
