A month ago, Redmi officially announced its Redmi Note 12 Turbo, the first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset. However, the company seems to still want to extend its Note 12 series.
This morning, Redmi officially unveiled the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The device will go on sale on April 29. The company also revealed its specifications and design in the official announcement.
As mentioned, the Redmi Note 12R Pro will feature an OLED display manufactured by Samsung. The display will support a 120Hz higher refresh rate for a smoother experience. It is also SGS low blue light certified for eye protection in long-term use. It is quite interesting that Redmi uses an OLED display in an entry-level device.
The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, which belongs to the entry-level segment and is based on a 4nm manufacturing process. It features the following cores: 2x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.0 GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. The device will also support dual-SIM dual 5G connectivity.
Redmi also mentions that the top storage variant will have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The launch poster shows that the Note 12R Pro features a dual-camera in a rectangular module on the back. The primary lens is a 48MP sensor.
As for the full specifications, we will have to wait until the first sale day of the Redmi Note 12R Pro, which is April 29.
