A month ago, Redmi officially announced its Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was the first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen2 chipset. However, it seems that the company still wants to extend its Note 12 series, as today the company has announced another Redmi Note 12 series model.
This morning, Redmi (the sub-brand of Xiaomi) officially announced a new model in its Note 12 series named the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The all-new entry-level device will go on sale on April 29 at 10 AM (as per Chinese Timing). In the official announcement, the company also revealed the device’s specifications and design.
As mentioned, the new Redmi Note 12R Pro will feature an OLED Straight Display manufactured by Samsung. The display will support a 120Hz higher refresh rate for a smoother experience and is also SGS low blue light certified for eye protection in long-term usage. It is quite interesting that Redmi is providing an OLED display in an entry-level device.
Regarding the chipset, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen1 chipset, which belongs to the entry-level segment and is based on a 4nm manufacturing process. It features the following cores: 2x Cortex-A78 performance cores (clocked at 2.0GHz) and 6x Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores (clocked at 1.8GHz). It is worth mentioning that the device will also support dual-SIM dual 5G connectivity.
Moreover, the officials also mentioned that the top storage variant would have 12GB of RAM in addition to 256GB storage. In the launch poster, it can be seen that the Note 12R Pro features a dual-camera setup on the backside in a rectangle-shaped module. The primary lens is a 48MP sensor.
For complete specifications information, we will have to wait until the first sale day of Redmi Note 12R Pro, which is April 29.
