ASUS is developing the successor to its current gaming phone. Some reports suggest the phone will be called the ROG Phone 5.
Today, ASUS announced that the phone will be called the ROG Phone 5. The upcoming gaming phone will skip the number 4 in its naming. The latest device in the ROG Phone series is the ROG Phone 3.
Previously, real photos of the device had also been leaked, showing that the appearance of this new gaming phone is the same as its predecessor.
The ROG Phone 5 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. This gaming phone will also feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.
The Snapdragon 888 is an octa-core chipset built on a 5nm process. It also features a Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.84 GHz, significantly improving performance over previous chipsets.
The phone is also expected to come with a 6000mAh dual battery (3000mAh x 2) and support wired fast charging of up to 65W.
The release date for the ASUS ROG Phone 5 has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be launched soon.
