A few days ago, we reported that Vivo is working on a new mid-range smartphone – Vivo Y32, but the company isn’t limited to that only. Instead, continuous development has been seen. This morning, a new device from the same Vivo’s Y series surfaced on the Chinese certification site.
The device is named Vivo Y55s 5G and got listed on the China Telecom site along with the basic specifications information and renders.
Starting from the display, the new Vivo Y55s features a 6.58 inches u-shaped notch display, also supporting Full-HD+ resolution (2408*1080p). The Vivo Y55s’ body has the following dimensions: 163.87*75.33*9.17mm and weighs around 199.8g. It seems that the device is a bit thick and overweight.
In terms of internal specifications, the new Vivo Y55s is powered by the Dimensity 700 chipset, which is the most affordable CPU in Mediatek’s Dimensity 5G series. The chipset is based on a 7nm manufacturing process and has a maximum 2.2GHz frequency (on Cortex-A76 core). The chipset also integrates the Mali-G72 CPU.
The camera specifications of the device are also a bit lower. The new Vivo Y55s features a Dual Camera Setup (50MP+2MP) in a rectangle-shaped module with a vertical arrangement. On the front side, there is an 8MP lens in the display’s notch.
A 6000mAh lithium-ion larger battery has also been featured inside the phone, along with 18W charging support. The company has also integrated a side fingerprint recognition sensor in the lock screen button. It is worth mentioning that the phones feature a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The phone would be available in only one storage variant: 8+128GB, priced at 1899 yuan ($299), while the color options are Ceramic Black, Mirror Lake Blue, and Cherry Pink Meteor. The launch of Vivo Y55s is on December 4.
