It was reported that Honor is all set to launch the successor series of its main lineup in May 2021. However, recent reports are claiming that after the launch of the new series, the company will also reveal the successor of its famous Play series.
The famous Chinese Leakster @DigitalChatStation has recently revealed that the Honor is also planning to launch the all-new Honor Play5 series after the launch of its main lineup. The blogger has also revealed the specifications of the base model in the upcoming Honor Play5 series.
As per the leakster, the all-new Honor Play5 (Standard Version) will feature a water drop (v-shaped) notched display that sizes around 6.53 inches. The display would be an OLED, packed with Full-HD+ resolution. The phone would have a thickness of 7.46mm and a weight of around 179g.
On the backside, there would be a matrix quad-camera setup (64MP Main Sensor + 8MP Ultra-wide + 2MP Depth + 2MP Macro). There would be a 3800mAh battery inside the phone, which seems to be downgraded compared to the previous model.
The phone would also support 66W fast charging, which might be the same charging technology used in Huawei’s Mate40 series and Nova8 series. The blogger has also mentioned that the device in mass production may have a bit different weight or length and the flash charging as well.
The phone would feature the Dimensity 800U chipset, an octa-core chipset based on an 8nm manufacturing process. The chipset features 2x Cortex-A76 Performance Core (clocked @2.4GHz) and 6x Cortex-A55 cores (clocked @2GHz). It also got a Mali-G57 MC3 GPU for decent gaming.
The blogger has mentioned that the Honor Play5 series will be launched soon. Currently, we have no confirmed date or month.
