In this article, I will explain how to disassemble a Xiaomi Mi 5s to remove the back cover, battery, front camera, rear camera, bottom board, speaker, and motherboard.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s still supports dual SIM card functionality, but does not support storage expansion via memory cards.
Remove the two screws beside the USB Type-C port.
A few clips are securing the back cover to the fuselage. You can remove the back cover pretty easily.
We can find that there is a large graphite thermal sticker on the back cover.
With the back cover removed, you can access the battery, cameras, motherboard, and other internal components.
On the upper and lower protection boards, there is a screw covered with fragile stickers. If you damage the fragile sticker, the warranty will be void.
Remove all screws securing the motherboard protection board.
Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Pull out two adhesive tapes and remove the battery.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s comes with a 3.8V, 3200mAh Li-polymer battery.
Remove all screws securing the speaker module.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s’s touch chip is from Synaptics, and the model number is S3331.
Under the motherboard, there is a metal roll cage.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s features a Sony IMX378 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with larger pixels at 1.55 microns, which Xiaomi claims are equivalent to those found in compact cameras.
