Before the teardown process, we need to remove the SIM card tray first.
There is no screw at the bottom cover, so the back cover and the chassis are glued together. We need to heat the back cover with a heat gun for about five minutes.
Insert a guitar pick between the back cover and chassis and slide it along the edges to remove the back cover completely.
Open the back cover slowly. Be careful, the fingerprint module cable still connects to the motherboard.
The fingerprint module is secured to the motherboard via a metal bracket.
Remove the two screws that secure the metal bracket and disconnect the fingerprint cable from the motherboard.
Now, you can remove the back cover completely.

After removing the bottom cover, you can access the motherboard, battery, and the small circuit board at the bottom.
The metal frame acts as a buffer to protect the glass back cover when the phone is dropped.
Remove all screws securing the middle frame.
The middle frame is also bonded to the metal chassis to prevent water ingress.
This is the dual-color flashlight embedded in the metal frame.
The motherboard of the Huawei Honor 8 is relatively compact. The main chipsets are all covered with metal shields.
This is the speaker module and the USB Type-C port.
Remove all screws securing the motherboard and carefully separate it from the metal chassis.
The speaker of the Honor 8 is square and has four touch points (the left one is indicated above). As shown in the image above, the light sensor is located to the right of the speaker.

Hi, for Honor 8, can you help me find out whether the volume button is attached to the body/frame, or is it easily replaceable? Is it a separate part?
Yes! It is a separate part.
Hi, I have horizontal lines across the screen. Can I try to fix it or is it garbage now?
I have a problem with a black screen. What is the problem? I have already changed the display.
Is the fingerprint sensor removable?
The better way is to replace the fingerprint module.
I spilled some sticky food on the speaker, and since the volume is very low. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
You can open the phone and clean the speaker. If the volume is still very low, you need to replace the speaker.
If you can write a repair guide for us, we will send you a new speaker for free.
Is the bezel recoverable after removal?
