Recently, the company officially warmed up and will launch a brand-new self-developed chip at the upcoming event on March 29. The purpose of this self-developed chipset has not been revealed yet. Rumors are claiming that this might be the second generation of the Surging chip.
As per our sources, this would be an ISP (Image Signal Processor) chip. Xiaomi has already announced that the upcoming Mi Mix will feature the company’s own liquid lens, so we can conclude that the self-developed chip is an ISP.
The purpose of ISP is that it is used for image processing in digital cameras or other image-capturing devices like smartphones.
In the upcoming event on March 29, it is already known that Xiaomi will bring its new Generation of Mi Mix series, while the high-end versions of Xiaomi Mi 11 will also be announced. The high-end series includes Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra.
All the upcoming models are expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 888. The SoC is an octa-core chipset based on a 5nm manufacturing process.
